I was fortunate enough to make it to our friend’s (possibly annual?) graham cracker house party and I made sure I brought my ‘Creative Gloves’ (For those of you who didn’t know, all of my creativity comes from a pair of gloves consisting of one of these and one of these.) Anyway, it was a lot of fun.

While some people went the standard 4-walls-inverted-V-roof blueprint, others took some creative license.

Although this piece in particular turned into a sort of Elderly-Transformer-With-Mustache sort of thing.

As I walked around I saw some stellar houses. I mean, Necco wafers for faux Spanish roof tiles? Genius.

Others decided to go for the whole ‘accurate’ thing with to-scale replicas of post-modern architecture. Where are we? France, New York or Gum-Drop Fairy Island? Who knows.

By the time I found out our ‘houses’ were competing I had already decided my fate by not even making a house. This couple however made not only a home with an entire chocolate motif (thus being the most awesome of the day) but added a stinking Hershey’s syrup moat and tiny little bridge to boot. The winners of the party.

My ‘house’ was never even a house to begin with, so I don’t know what I was thinking. Someone asked if the creations on my table were ‘the kid ones’. When informed of adult-like age of me and my table-neighbors they still went on to say “Oh… Well a couple are pretty whimsical.” To which I said “I’m right here buddy! Chew on THOSE graham crackers!” only I said it in my head and an hour after I went home. That (would have) showed him!
