So I don’t know how I only just now found this out, but it might have something to do with the fact that I’m a twelve year old living in 1992. That episode of Step By Step last night was so square! Yo! Word! Yabba Dabba Doo Y’all! Those are all 1992 things right?
Anyway, it has come to my attention that we can now retire because a long, long time ago, on the eve of Goodie’s birth, me and my friend wrote in the Goodie Scroll, “Verily, Whence a Performance Artist of the Rap Variety Doth Use Mine Verbiage in a Song, Thus Will Be The Day We Can Retire, Because Thus Will Have Been The Day That We Made It.”
Well Lil’ Wayne via Chamillionaire, you’ve made me a happy man:
“There’s cooler ways to die but I’m smoking;
There’s cooler ways to ride but I’m soaring.”
Like a modern day poet. Why is that so important you ask? Because seven years ago Goodie Two Sleeves coined the phrase “There are cooler ways to die.” in regards to smoking/in general. That means that if we didn’t make our ‘Cooler Ways’ tee, Lil’ Wayne would have had to rap something else right there, in that one line, in that one song, among millions of songs… We’re famous!
Well, as silly as it is, it’s still fun to look back and see how far some teenagers can go without any college degree or experience for that matter, carrying only a big bucket of persistence and positive outlook. Have a good night!
* We’re not actually retiring, although I AM tired again, so in that sense, yes, I am retired.
